THE HERITAGE RETURNS…
For over sixty years, Neil’s Heritage House was among Dayton’s top tier of premiere fine dining and gathering establishments, hosting thousands
of banquets, meetings receptions and community events as well as legendary local entertainers. Founded in 1946 by Neil Swafford, Neil’s Heritage House was truly a Dayton icon, synonymous with elegant service and exquisite cuisine. This heritage continued as Eckhard Schrotter and Walter Schaller enhanced the tradition and elegance enjoyed by thousands of patrons.
In 2010, Neil’s granddaughter, Serena Walther Leventhal returned to Dayton to restore this fine dining for the community she loves. Serena and her husband Eric Leventhal both experienced restauranteurs returned to Dayton with their children from California with the goal of sharing their extensive experience in fine dining and beverage operations with the Dayton Community.
Although the exterior of Neil’s remains unchanged, the interior has been extensively remodeled, along with elegant décor, new bar, an upgraded
kitchen and new mechanical systems.
Serena and Eric have spared no effort to assure that Neil’s family of patrons will find a blend of traditional and innovative cuisine. Unique new dishes are being introduced that are prepared from scratch by chef, Eric Leventhal. Polished wait staff includes both young experienced team members as well as seasoned veterans with up to 28 years experience.
Serena applies her beverage expertise to the selection of fine wines, exquisite cocktails and other libations. Eric compliments Serena’s talents by focusing on menu, wait staff, and business development. On the horizon is expansion of operations to include more entertainment and increasing utilization of the lower level banquet rooms for use by patrons, banquets and hosting community meetings.
Reaction to Neil’s re-opening has been overwhelmingly positive. Banquets are being booked several months out and reservations are strongly suggested as the word is out that the Heritage has returned.
